Every cell phone manufacturer creates a variety of phones with varying characteristics. Customers select the mobile phone with the functions they will use, such as text messaging or GPS (Global Positioning System).
Mobile phones
Many of the components in cell phones are the same. A mobile phone's circuit board contains multiple computer chips and a microprocessor that allow you to make and receive phone calls.
Within Cell Phones
Every cell phone contains a subscriber identity module (SIM) card. It holds all of the phone's owner's personal identity information, such as the cell phone number, phone book, and text messages.
The front-facing screen of a cell phone is known as an LCD, or liquid display crystal. The keyboard is located beneath the LCD and features numbers or other figures on its numerous keys. You type the phone number of the person you wish to call into the keyboard. You talk into your cell phone's microphone and listen through a speaker.
What gives your phone its strength? Because it is powered by a little battery, your phone does not need to be plugged in to function. A distinctive sound or an image on your LCD warns you when your battery is losing power. Then you can connect your phone to a charger that plugs into a wall outlet, a car, or even a solar charger. Your battery will be fully charged after a few hours on the charger.
