World of Warcraft lost 800.000 players during the period WoTLK Gold April-June the publisher Activision Blizzard announced today as part of its most recent earnings report. In June 30. World of Warcraft had 6.8 million players, which is down from the 7.6 million players at March 31.
Activision states that the decrease in subscriptions was mainly at the East. The company called the decline "seasonal" and added that the drop in subscribers was comparable to the decline we witnessed in the second quarter of 2012. ahead of the release of the World of Warcraft expansion Mists of Pandaria.
The next World of Warcraft expansion is Warlords of Draenor, which launches this fall for PC. The release date for the expansion will be announced during an event of a different kind next week at Los Angeles. Though the expansion isn't out yet, it's already been sold 1.5 million units of Pre-purchases Activision Blizzard said today.
Even though World of Warcraft 's subscriber count is down, revenue from the game buy WoTLK Classic Gold is up, Blizzard tainment CEO Mike Morhaime said. Morhaime didn't give any specific figures for the revenue and Actvision Blizzard does not share the data publicly.
