This past November, when SWWBO and I were cruising the Caribbean, our much beloved Daughter-in-Law Ashely and Prodigal Grandson Miles Castle-sat, providing security and critter care. Part of providing security is being able to man the ramparts with the giant scattergun should the Zombie Apocalypse start. So here, Miles is going through crew drill training and familiarizing himself with the position sketch, ably supervised by his Grand-Mother-Dog, Sergeant Kiki.
Given the assininity of present day School Boards and Administrators (Pleasant Ridge soon to be an exception, as SWWBO is going to be on the Board...) this is a picture which will probably never be seen in a school yearbook - because it has (shudder) a gun in it. One wonders why those schools that do that allow textbooks to be published that contain pictures of people carrying guns in war and such, if the mere image is so vile that it must be shunned?
Snerk - there are probably school districts in the land who, upon seeing this picture, would pre-expel Miles and not allow him to enroll...
Heh. Miles is gonna be one of the few kids in his class who has *shot* a cannon, much less merely stood next to one.
