Disability Rights California Veterans Peer Self Advocacy Group

Our Veterans Peer Self Advocacy Group started in Nevember of 2003 by the Veterans at San Diego VA Hospital. Our group at that time had Vets from as early as the Vietnam era to the first Gulf war. Every Veteran had a Psychiatric Disability and/or Co-Existing Disorders needing benefits to stay engaged with the VA Health Care System. Our moto then was "A Veterans is a Veteran, is a Veteran" and is currently our motto today. We dealt with every Systemic Barrier ranging from VA Benefits, SSA Benefits, SDI, Unemployment, Treatment, Family Courts Employment and AOD. We are proud that we served our Country eventhough a lot of us have battled with Mental Illness that have given us some serious mountains to climb.

Currently we are looking towards Workforce Education, Training and Development of career paths of our choice even if that means starting your own business. We're located at 1111 6th Av.
