PHRs on the mind?

There is a great deal of talk around the subject of Personal Health Records (PHR) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

With data being stored at so many different points along a person's path throught the medical system, the primary question becomes ownership. On the medical and treatment side, they are obligated to maintain detailed records about a person's treatment. However, individuals feel strongly about having open access to information about them.

So where is it stored, with the provider or the patient?

This is question being discussed at length here at the CiMH Conference.

With the cx, and oversight by those providing services...proper case management and ethics on the provider side ought to take care of the rest, oughtn't it?
