I just applied for help in obtaining a psychiatric service dog for PTSD, the website
Paws and Stripes, says there is a waiting list. Well for fucks sake, "You really think so?" When has a fucking veteran seen anything but? Hell I waited (not really, I filed 10 fucking times...) fucking 20 years to get an 80% rating, why the *** not wait another for a service dog. Hell, its got service in the name. Its gotta take time right?
I understand that Paws and Stripes is doing everything they can for our service-members and our veterans, God knows and I do too. None of this rant is aimed at them. Its the fucking politicians I am railing at, hell it looks good to say they passed a bill to do just that. But, at the meat of the matter is a three year study on the
feasibly and efficacy. Really? No one at the fucking VA or in government ever had a fucking dog?
Uh, this is no fucking hint to Congress, the Senate and our Oval Office. Fully fund grants for Combat Veterans with PTSD/TBI to receive psychiatric service dogs!
Anyway, ranting over. Feeling very emotional today, here is what I put in the online application,
Receive help and support obtaining and training a psychiatric service dog so that I can go outside and be free again. I have been living with combat PTSD for 20 years now and it has not gotten much better since 1991
