Believe it or not, I was there at the conception of Network of Care. I was a staff member for the YWCA Family support center in Odenton Maryland. There was a meeting at the local community college (AACC) about this new social network that will be different than any other -- and today it truely is still unique. I'm not sure how much or little or even at all that I will utilize this website, I feel that in order to get something out of it... you have to put into it so... here I go...
I am B.Tucker -- a husband, a father, an elder, a community activist, parent and child advocate, videographer, photographer, computer literacy facilitator, treasure hunter and more but I'm not here to toot my own horn... I'm here to allow others to set and reach goals; whether personal or private. Big or small. My company is in partnership with University of Parents (UfP) (information taken from the www.universityforparents.org website below).
Universily for Parents is an organization in partnership with Maryland Community Parent Teacher Associations (PTA) 501(c)3. UfP provides parents with the skills and resources to help their children succeed in school. Interactive and engaging parent and family classes are conducted in partnership with schools and communities by parent educators.
Parents are the foundation of a family. In today’s society families are faced with many challenges. University of Parents provides parents with the tools and resources to be successful parents while facing everyday challenges.
In my own way, I help one parent at a time. Each family is different, each situation different and some times difficult -- I don't have all the answers all the time... I in some ways, am just the key for the door that he/she needs to go through in order to get to the next stage in the life of parenting. Parenting isn't always about do's and don'ts -- its about trial and error --
Here at the Network of Care, I'd hope to engage parents and educators, mentors and mentees, students and professors, businesses and trainers to come to one conclusion... that we all need to commuicate in order to function correctly. Thank you for reading... feel free to go to the website www.universityforparents.
Thank you,
B.Tucker Sr.
