After all, what's the purpose of purchasing NBA 2K in September if the standing will be missing, myPlayers will be missing in playing to conserve VC and you are restricting yourself? I can see no fun in it. I feel like the move should have only been to create him the cover athlete about all editions or leave outside him. Seems somewhat exploitative to charge fans 40 or 30 bucks more to get a memorial edition of a game. That is NBA 2K. The games profit model is built on manipulation. From the built to the microtransactions in advertisements, NBA 2K is designed to wring as much cash from the buyer. Exploitative only because he and they are making bank from that. Something really off putting about that... Are the profits going towards anything?

This was the clear choice and I really like the look of the current gen cover... but the cynic in me feels bizarre about 2K also awakened the cost to $69.99 for the next-gen version this time around. It's hard to find that and not believe that 2K understands having Kobe on the cover is likely to make people think less about this price. The Kobe Editions will be the exact same cost, current and next gen. It's the base game that is more expensive on next gen. The Kobe edition is also the only one that offers a free upgrade to the next gen version should you buy the current gen version. Full cost has been paid by you for the update, if you purchase the base match.

In 2005, I probably would've looked at myself for saying that statement mad. Especially after the launch of NFL 2K5 but the NBA 2K series today is so frustrating as a basketball lover. Here is to hoping that a competition comes around. I dununpopular opinion but as somebody who plays with MyGM annually for hundreds of hours, it's still pretty fantastic. I never played with the MyPlayer and've never jumped online once. Should you ignore the VC and MT hell NBA 2K has become, the base game and the GM mode is second to none.

I agree with that but also NBA 2Kplay feels worse. I had had a good fracture from 2K and coming back it was a bit of a jolt. Defence now seems impossible, team mate AI is fucked (e.g. they'll either stand just inside the three line or roughly 2 feet behind it for unknown reasons), departure still stinks, everything still feels like canned cartoons, along with the inflation on ratings is crazy (like that there are essentially no players under 70 outside of the dregs). I miss my situational 65 rated gamers! They will need to work that they have since 2K11.
