My question and thought is, is what is stopping 2k out of building a blitz style game, marketing that Mut 20 coins as their primary game mode, then creating a sim/franchise portion of Madden 20 NFL and simply calling it an add-on match mode? Or dlc franchise style? Likely can't do that if they don't possess the permit to get a sim NFL game. If I had been 2K, I would create an"arcade mode" similar to Madden's Arcade setting (rather arcade-like, but mostly similar to sim; e.g. nothing such as Blitz) except make it 8v8 should they have to so as to comply with the arcade license legal language, whatever that involves. But make real-looking stadiums, maybe not sandlots or alleyways or people baskeball courts, etc.. Actual demonstration, commentary, franchise/Coach style, My GM manner, etc. just with 8v8 or anything it takes to satisfy the license of an"arcade" game.
In doing this, also lay all the groundwork for an 11v11 game, for example, engine, rosters, depth chart, etc.. Otherwise, you can launch a companion game which shares all the assets, but you can substitute the roster and the logos and call it All Professional Football 2K22 or anything (and let modding/editing so players may mod Madden 20 NFL with NFL logos and custom rosters using NFL player titles ) that really does 11v11 simulation soccer.
I really don't believe EA or 2K are bum to be fair. I just think most of the problems that impact NBA 2K and Madden are that a small fraction of this market spends a substantial quantity of money and it has forced the programmers to cater to this little subset. Consequently leaves them developmental resources to further another"older" facets of Madden 20 NFLs, and that's exactly what causes most of the negative comments already aimed at both on social media.I can totally imagine a situation where 2K starts putting a lot of the groundwork for whenever the license becomes available, so that they can more easily transition if they do work something out with the NFL. I think Madden gets the license through 2021, which could produce the time until EA renews until like 2030 lmao. I believe 2K is currently gon na have their hands full building a good football game from scratch punctually, and making sure to address the issues fans have experienced with Madden for over a decade.
EA doesn't need the NFL letting somebody else creating"simulation football" because they know their franchise style fucking sucks, and directly behind that they understand their gameplay glitches are not too far off. They know they have best way to get coins in madden 20 neglected franchise style for many years and like many institutions that are complacent they want to put off fixing it as long as possible. If 2k could earn a franchise style in football that was similar to the one they create within their own basketball games, they'd crush it.I'd love more in depth contracts. Let me front load this dude. I would also like to have the ability to sign dudes before the last year of their own deal. Those are new items, they're just crap they eliminated in the past couple of years.
