Part of the process that's remastering Diablo II for Blizzard was to stay true to Diablo 2 Items the original, and to make sure what's important to fans was there. So right off the bat sweeping basic changes were never actually on the desk, although the notion of climbing inventory size was briefly discussed and then quickly dismissed based on just how key stock management is in Diablo II.
That is sacrificing room for Charms, being particular about just how many Potions you can take, decision making on level with combat, exploration, and delegating Skill Points.
"Where we did a lot of experimenting was when we're considering quality of life things or incorporating things for consoles," Rob adds. "When we added a controller one of those things that we attempted was an auto-sort of the Inventory for people. We are going to keep the Inventory Tetris but since managing your inventory might be difficult with the control we'll just do it for you. So we did that. We built a system where as soon as you have a product, it would go in your stock in the best manner. It would automatically sort it for you. This was in the game for maybe five minutes."
"Not only did people not like the game was doing it for them, but that it would rearrange their particular sorting method," Rob Gallerani continues. "They would be like,'I want my Tomes on the left side, and Cheap Diablo 2 Resurrected Items also my Potions about the proper'. Then they'd go and pick up one item and it would sort it and it had been rage-inducing. That is obviously something that is part of Diablo II so why are we even meddling with it? .
