Old School RuneScape (OSRS), an MMORPG name that started almost two years ago, has closed a community poll which has been voting on the execution of"Partnerships." In essence, Partnerships revolve around the concept that some new items and features would become accessible to"Partners" of Old School RuneScape, before being released to the general population. This is nothing new, as last year the programmers of RuneScape"partnered" with Twitch to let Prime members early entry to a new purple skin colour. Once the event had finished, they allowed all players to utilize the pigment.
The RuneScape community did not like the notion back then, and they don't enjoy it. The idea has been contested by A subreddit dedicated to OSRS repeatedly over the last week. Many users are asserting that this brings the sport one step closer to getting blown microtransactions.
The developers of OSRS, Happily Jagex, have said they won't add any content to the game without polling the community. This can be accomplished with an in-game voting booth in which their ballots can be cast by members. Thanks to this voting system, most of the community is pleased with any changes made to the nostalgic game.
The poll was set to close on Monday the 8th, however early polling results were negative Jagex decided to close the stalls early. A statement from the provider indicates that not only were the surveys but the overall hatred around the subject forced them to leave the idea. They are frustrated the community thought they'd do such a thing and say that they had been in no way attempting to add microtransactions.
They did that using Runescape 3. It supplies a monthly subscription which adds countless hours of content, although OSRS is a Free to Play name. The fact that any type of monetization was discussed while the name contains a monthly subscription was likely the reason for such a backlash in the community.
Jagex's massively-multiplayer online role-playing game "Old School RuneScape" launches on iOS and Android on Oct. 30, the developer announced on Wednesday. "RuneScape" is best place to buy osrs gold a fantasy MMORPG that first launched in 2001.
