well dakota is in special education because of his ability to learn is lower than kids his age ( IQ is 55 at age 8 ). I had a meeting with his teachers ( general and special ) tuesday. This it all started when i was told he was doing so good in both classes. the school was talking about wanting to up his time more in the general class more and lees in special ed . i had two teachers telling me he was doing so good .So i talked to the teachers asking their thoughts of moving him the last two months or so of school to general to see how he would do. they both said yeah lets try that . i went to his Special ed casemanager and asked her to see what she thought . He was to be moved or so i thought the week of 2 / 8 - 2 / 19 to the general ed class. Only the Secial Ed teacher told me she was unable to do it at least three day's in a row because she can not split herself in half and be in two places at once. 7 sudents one teacher i understood. just try it again tomorrow type of thing. Only to be pulled by her to the side last week( last wednesday 2 /17 ) and told they were going to go back to the way it was before because he was not able to function in neither class like this. What seemed to get my crawl was there was only maybe two day's IF THAT they even placed him there. So to get a better undestanding i talked to the principal . We decided to get all of us together and talk it out. Only when it came to having to sit down and talk to the high ups ( i pulled the high -ups in ) on his schooling the teachers and casemanager back tracked and say a complete differant thing then what they told me. they said that it was only an extra hour a day. The casemanager told me yeah sure lets try to full day if he is doing so good when we talked., only to go back and say it was only a hour extra a day when the principal was there. so in hind sight they made me out to be the trouble maker. making it look like i wa pushing htem to get him out of the special ed class and put back into general ed. the last thing i want is for him to get lost in the cracks of the school because he is unable to keep up and understand the material. If he has to stay in the special ed class to get a heads up then so be it but to me it looks like he is gettting bored and the teachers are just not wanting to take the few minutes from their time to direct him back to where he was. i know that they are busy people too but we as tax payers pay their wages and it is their job to teach our kids.
So what do you think ?
Do i have a right to be upset because they lied just To cover for each other .
