Combat veterans and the honored dead from military action rightly get first billing. And on Memorial Day it is the time to honor the ultimate sacrifices. But for the "tweeners" (those that were between the Vietnam War and the current slew of gunfights against the scourge of terrorism); for those of the Cold War Generation; for those who did one tour (one contract) and went on to other things; this day is for you. Enjoy it. Relish the attention. Be honorable, forthright and honest about the Service actually rendered. It mattered. Thanks to all that served with me, before me, and since. De Oppresso Liber! Strike and Kill! Penetra Le Tenebre!
