Posted this on Facebook, thought I would share here too: Damn. Many of the people who inspired me to explore science, to explore space and time, are gone now. Many of the ones I worked with are gone, such as fellow geek Janice Voss -- who always seemed to have one or two books tucked away in her flight suit and a database of what she had read and owned. Part of me will admit, it f*****g sucks. The other part, the better part, says thank God that they lived, and that I got to meet so many of them. Ride Sally Ride. Godspeed to you, Janice, and the others. Thank you for blazing across the skies, and giving a point of aim for all to come. LW off to raise a toast or three tonight
