Ooops, I mean war on terror expenses. Well at least that is the claim. U.S. and Pakistani officials are discussing billions of dollars in reimbursements to Pakistan for its role in the U.S.-led war on militants. Pakistani Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Shaikh alluded to the discussions in remarks at the Brookings Institution in Washington on Wednesday. “Given the current state of our dialogue with the U.S., I don’t want to get into opening a new controversy about what I think are the numbers and what somebody else thinks are the numbers,” Mr. Shaikh said. “We have had a good discussion, and I think that issue is hopefully going to get resolved in some positive way.” There is no question that the Pakistanis have provided support for the militants, dang I mean support for the war on the militants. But there are a few expenses I am not so sure they really ought to be trying to shake us down for, such as: $25M- Room and board for adviser on terror group command and control in Abbotobad. $1.5M Repairs to terror group command and control adviser's compound in Abbotobad incl. urine stain and brain matter cleaning and stealth helicopter parts removal $750k Anti-shark net installation after large infestation of hungry Great White's off coast $25M Room and board for one-eyed Pakistani military chaplain & religious adviser $1.25M for road block materials and damaged vehicle looting unloading services But hey, they are our allies. So just cut 'em a check.
