With attention to the role intelligence has played in the global conflict, this special presentation by the director of one of the Nation’s intelligence agencies will salute those who help keep our country safe. General Burgess is Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency and Commander of the Joint Functional Component Command. In a career spanning nearly 40 years, he has received numerous awards and decorations, including the Defense Distinguished Service Medal, the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, and the NATO Medal. Commissioned in Military Intelligence through the Auburn University ROTC Program, he earned a Master of Science degree in Education from the University of Southern California and a Master of Military Arts and Science from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.
