Pakistan is denying access of our supply convoys in a reaction to the alledged accidental killing of three border guards in an air strike to take out Taliban mortar teams firing on our positions in Afghanistan. The consequences are that the bottled up convoys are ripe targets for the Taliban (this is obvious to the Pakistan government and the ISI in particular): Reporting from Islamabad, Pakistan —Militants in Pakistan attacked tanker trucks transporting fuel to NATO forces in Afghanistan early Monday, killing three people. It was the latest in a string of attacks on NATO supply trucks bottlenecked in Pakistan by the shutdown of a vital border crossing. Read more at the LA Times. While Osama bin Laden was decrying the absolute lack of support from the Muslim world for the Pakistan flood victims, I thought that these very recent photos (taken Friday and Saturday, respectively) might be a good reminder for the government of Pakistan about our relationship.
