I've read Rantburg for seven or eight years. Fred Pruitt (also a vet) at Rantburg posts up a message that a business called Righthaven has been hired or bought the rights to sue for several media outlets. One is the Las Vegas Review-Journal and Righthaven is suing bloggers for use of the content of those media outlets. You can go here to a post about the lawsuit at Rantburg and support them with a donation for their defense fund. Since most bloggers publish their content without any or much revenue, it is easy to see how a company like Righthaven can put bloggers out of business - it's easier to shut down than go to court. Last, you can use a Firefox plugin to ensure that you never read any Righthaven. Instapundit sends us to this post at Clayton Cramer's Blog that describes how you can block any Stephen's Media/Righthaven protected media outlets. As your IT Department at work to block them too.
