“It’s important for them to know what procedure to follow because if something were to happen to me whether I get killed, or injured in a way I can’t help, they will be able to treat me or anyone else who needs it” - Seaman James Raffetto, during a train up for deployment to Afghanistan in 2009 Seaman James Raffetto, a corpsman with Company B, 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, applies notional medical treatment to Gunnery Sgt. Joshua Lind, a reconnaissance man with Co. B, during convoy operations at K-2 Combat Town, Nov. 12, 2009. Raffetto gave classes on the medical portion of the training evolution. Photo ByLine: Lance Cpl. Eugenio Montanez Received an email from Kari who is a friend of the family of James "Jay" Raffetto. He was hit in Afghanistan, and, like Todd Nicely, was put in an induced coma to keep him alive. He's a Hospital Corpsman with Co B, 1st Recon, 1st MarDiv. Jay has lost both legs and his left arm. I believe that he recently married before the deployment. So, people, we need your prayers and positive thoughts for Doc Raffetto. I'll update you with info as I can. I'm sure Soldiers Angels and the Injured Marine Semper Fi people will help. Get to it.
