In a move that surprised no one, General McChrystal has told the Army he will retire. I never met the man, because he commanded 2nd Ranger Battalion before I left and, truth to tell, I doubt we would have been buddies if we were in that unit at the same time. But from what I've seen and heard he was the kind of officer men were proud to serve under, and a very capable commander. Thank you for your service, General McChrystal.
