Naval Aviation Officer Candidates...On Line!

Over on my Instapinch blog, I've got a post up from a couple of years ago on what Aviation Officer Candidate School (AOCS) was like. Discounting the more-than-you'd-think bits like and little bits unlike the movie An Officer and a Gentleman, (I have to say An Officer.... was light years closer to the real thing than Top Gun was) it was still the first taste of structured military recruit life for most everyone who ended up in Pensacola and chartered your course for whatever Naval career you had in front of you. One of the former Drill Instructors, 1stSgt Rodger Thixton, has created a Facebook group for AOCS grads, DIs, class officers, etc. If you have had the good fortune to have the majority of your adult life shaped in part by the gentlemen below, head on over to the Facebook group and join in the sea stories and let everyone in the world know what it was like to do hop-n-pops with a A-4 tailhook: "Just begin. When I get tired, I'll let you know when to stop, maggot!"
