General Pelosi Not Interested In Sending More Troops To A'Stan

Nancy Pelosi, in an interview yesterday said: "I don't think there's a great deal of support for sending more troops to Afghanistan in the country or in the Congress," Pelosi told reporters. And she really doesn't much care what Gen. Stanley McChrystal asks for or has to say about the situation either: Obama administration officials have asked lawmakers and staff to help draw up a list of about 50 benchmarks that the government wants to use in determining whether U.S. strategy in the region is working. That list is due Sept. 24. Pelosi said she was "more interested" in that assessment than the McChrystal report that went to the White House last week. "September 24th is fraught with meaning for us," she said. I'm sure it is Ms. Pelosi - it is your opportunity to set a cut-and-run run date. You can imagine what will show up on that list of "50 benchmarks" which will ensure our departure before the job is done.
