Remembering Mike Stokely

Last month Robert Stokely did what he does every year, he invites friends, family and comrades to remember his son Mike on the anniversary of the day he was killed in Iraq. This year myself, Greyhawk and Mrs. G. and our own McQ were there and enjoyed being part of keeping Mike's memory fresh. Robert is a remarkable man who has been an inspiration to many other gold star families by making sure his son's death is not allowed to give a victory to those who killed him. He has spoken about Mike and shared his thoughts, pain and perseverance. It's never been easy, but it is important for all parents and all who serve to know that their sacrifice will be honored and remembered. Mike will not be forgotten. Here is the full length version of the memorial. Robert has also written at The Thunder Run.
