The RuneScape games will be Steamforged's 12th version of a video game designed for tabletop OSRS Gold. The previous adaptations included games like the Monster Hunter: World board game, which earned PS3.4 million on Kickstarter in 2021.
The trade of virtual currencies for real-world cash can cause problems for a variety of online games. It can disrupt in-game economies, unbalancing player experiences, or creating pay-to-win games. In RuneScape the trading in the digital gold currency has been a problem that has led to bots mining the resource, and accusations that the possibility to buy in-game 'bonds' with real-world cash amounts to gambling.
Today, Jagex has outlined strategies to combat the issue. In a new blog post which is attributed to "The RuneScape Team", Jagex states that "gold purchased via RWT is a major issue in any online game featuring the possibility of trading currency", and that although its "Anti-Cheating Team has been doing a lot to combat RWT sellers both inside both the games and outside", it will be taking stronger steps with immediate start.
Citing the "growing team and enhanced equipment", Jagex says it will not be merely in the business of acquiring gold and resources via RWT but as buyers. The aim is to limit the demand and the supply.
Jagex promises to have to send "messages to players we've identified that are engaged in the RWT" within "the next few hours buy rs07 gold". "For those who have been involved, we'd like to make clear that this is the single und only caution," said the statement.
