What? The Sun is a big player in climate change? But Algore say's it's my fault for having horses that fart.
Of course it's not that simple. But as someone with 20 (admittedly old) hours of college-level meteorology along with the college degree in geography, and someone who is very familiar with computer modeling, I've been a sceptic since before it was popular. Not a denier - climate change is... inevitable. A cursory glance over the fossil record shows that.
I've been more interested in spending effort in figuring out how to deal with it, vice standing on the shore, commanding the seas to stop rising. (And King Canute knew it was stoopid, he was proving a point).
Climate change alarmists (especially political ones) are far more about the power grab and chance to redistribute some wealth than they are about dealing with the problem.
Because if they wanted to deal with the problem, they'd be doing the planning about protecting the seashore cities, and where do the displaced island populations go?
But that's okay - after the mini-ice age hits and the waters recede - they'll be building on the new sea shores.
Heh. Before man arrived on the scene, the land I live on, now 1000ft above sea level, was once an inland sea, and later glaciated.
Climate change is inevitable. And the biggest input to it sits 93 million miles beyond our control.
That doesn't mean that we shouldn't be good stewards of the environment. But this is more about power than it is science.
Or good disaster planning.
Is a mini ice age on the way? Scientists warn the Sun has 'gone to sleep' and say it could cause temperatures to plunge.

On an unrelated note - why do Brit mainline newspapers seem to be so much better than ours? They have (on average) much more interesting reporting (at least judging from what shows up in my inbox).
