...especially in this war, I pretty much don't get too excited about Bronze Stars on officers - unless there's a V on it, or it comes with a Purple Heart, CIB or CAB (assuming that CAB isn't for "mortar rounds that fell a half-mile away a couple of times while I was in the bunker.")
For most officers, the Bronze Star is a combat zone Meritorious Service Medal. I would actually like to see them bump the BSM up by providing a "combat identifying device" for the MSM, and leave the BSM as a valor-only award.
