Interesting concept for including all the charge increments on one GFT. Entry argument to the instrument is range, read around the outer edge, using that offset-from-the-center line. The great utility of this approach is that reading along that line shows you all the charges capable of achieving that range, the elevation required on the tube, the time of flight (for setting fuzes) and the maximum ordinate (max ord) which is how high the projectile will be at apogee - important if you have air space restrictions. The elevation required can be important if you have overhead clearance issues, such as firing from clearings in the woods, for example.
One other interesting aspect.
It's tiny.
