Thinking about "Leave No Man Behind"

Argghhh!
Long time reader and acerbicly sage commenter 11B40 finally made a mistake...  on the "Leave No Man Behind" post, he left this comment:

Greetings:

Coincidently, I just recent re-read Mark Bowden's "Black Hawk Down" about the Battle of the Black Sea in Mogadishu, Somalia. These two "operators" were beyond brave and certainly deserving of much more respect than they've been given, although I think that that would bother them not a wit.

At the risk diminishing their sacrifice, I would ask that you consider having a discussion of "Leave No Man Behind" at some near-future date.
All comments are emailed to me.  This one got him a response:

Would you care to lead that discussion? Send me words, I'll publish 'em.

And he ruefully responded:

Well, turnabout always seemed like fair play to me when I did it, so I shall.

And he did - and here it is.  Discuss amongst yourselves...
