Like most of the militia groups I had contact with (not many, to be sure, and never from a "I wanna join" perspective) there's a huge element of Keystone Kops to this band of hosers.
Only these twits took it to the next level - Keystone Kriminals. Doesn't make them less dangerous on an individual level, but they're certainly not an existential threat. Not that Mr. Dees would concede that.
He's going to dine out on this group for years. Which is probably the greatest long-term effect these asshats will have. Bury 'em in the system deep and long for the damage they have done to the rest of us.
Don't get me wrong - there are well-run state militias (as distinct from the National Guard, which is really a national militia the states have access to), and there are probably some privately organized groups that are more than a group of angry people getting together to puff each other up. But, in truth, I've not run into any of that type of group that impressed me.
