President Obama and the War on Terror, Speechifying Thereon

Argghhh!
(The GWOT is over, btw.  I saw the memo from State.  Apparently we surrendered, since the other side hasn't.)

Mr Obama allowed the intelligence community and military to do the task set for them, and wishes to enjoy the credit for doing so... I truly see nothing wrong with that. A time-honored perogative of the commander in chief.

One wishes, however, that he would do so in context, and full context and explain how he came to his change of heart on the nuts and bolts of the issue. I'm not a fan of Mr. Limbaugh (more accurately, I'm not a fan of his show) but he did put something into context:

"A decade of courage, sacrifice, cooperation, coordination, investigation, brains, and discipline on the part of the US military, the Special Ops, the CIA interrogators, the entire intelligence community, has been exploited now for the personal gain of one small man who had the easiest job in this long chain of command.

Of all the people involved in the War on Terror, which this president was totally opposed to as a senator, this one guy had the easiest job of all of the people in this chain, from the boots on the ground to the intel people, to the CIA interrogators."

Mr. Limbaugh is being unfair. Mr. Obama has many irons in the fire, but he kept his focus here between his vacations, golf outings, and rubber chicken campaign fundraising dinners, and spending money we don't have like it was someone else's...

Now, a serving officer of my acquaintance who understands that you are responsible for all your troops do and fail to do, observed during Mr. Obama's speech last night...

"If BHO is taking credit for UBL, then he must also accept blame for peed-on bodies, burnt Korans, and dead civilians."

I'm guessing not so much.
