...of those of us who lived during the C-ration era, up into the mid-80's. Of course, you could have gotten an earlier start as a milbrat during that era, too. We always had a case or two of C's in quarters while living in France and Germany, as you were required to bring them with you during NEO (Non-combatant Evacuation Operations) exercises, as they would also be your food during the first week of an actual NEO event should the balloon have gone up (Ahh, the optimism of an innocent age). You could also buy them at the commissary. Many a Cub/Boy/Girl Scout ate C's during camp-outs and similar events back in those days.
