At first blush, at least, I think it's an improvement - though our Vietnam-and-earlier era readers might notice some similarities to how we used to train in combat units...Nothing new under the sun, in a sense. Anybody remember the 5 event PT test? My bet, based on a long-simmering cynicism born of 50+ years around the Army? Soon after energetic combat operations are over, this will fall to the wayside, for many of the same reasons the other one did. Too expensive to maintain the facilities. Too hard to administer when deployed, causes too many injuries... I'm a supporter of...
