As noted in the post below, I'm building a gun platform for the Castle's ordnance. It's not quite done, and we're on a rain delay currently.
The purpose of building it springs from many sources. The most important, since SWWBO does the lawn mowing, was to meet SWWBO's requirement to situate the gun such that it doesn't become a weedy mess, thus vexing her.
Other, ancillary considerations are, getting the gun level, rather than with that terrain-driven drunken list, which was worsening because of how the area drains, and, more importantly, getting it up off the dirt, so as to better protect the gun, since it's going to be in the open, and little rots wooden wheels faster than sitting on dirt. Lastly, it also gives me something to anchor the gun to, so as to make any thieves (or mischievous teenagers) have to work harder to swipe the gun.
