On a little "borrowed valor"...

Argghhh!
So, apparently the squeaky clean candidate is, well, perhaps a little (s)oiled.

Oy. Ambinder is unconsciously delicious.

The lede: Connecticut Attorney General *** Blumenthal is denying a New York Times report that he routinely lied about his service in Vietnam.

The next line: "The New York Times story is an outrageous distortion of *** Blumenthal's record of service," Blumenthal's campaign manager, Mindy Myers, said in a statement.

My take: Oh, it's really okay and no big deal beacuse it's a distortion.  Why?  Because it wasn't routine, just occasionally...?

Well, we'll learn a little something about Connecticut voters and how they see things, eh?

Of course, on the other side of the aisle, we have Representative Souder, a Republican, resigning over revelations of infidelity, citing as a reason a desire to spare his family the drama.  Well and good.  We could note other ways he could have spared his family some drama *and* kept his job, but that would just be piling on.

But I gotta pile on, just a bit.  Representative Souder did a little video on the value of abstinence-based sex ed.   Filmed with his... um, mistress.  Good call on that resignation Congressman.
