Today is an interesting day for the Medal. We have 5 Medals awarded, all to people who survived their fights. We re-acquaint ourselves with epitome of a Marine non-commissioned officer, Gunnery Sergeant Dan Daly - who on this day earned his second Medal of Honor - his first having been earned when he was a young Private during the Boxer Rebellion. He would have to settle for "only" a Navy Cross during WWI. And, we run into our first Medals from the Haiti Campaign of 1915.
