The 19th of September is a busy day in US military history, with 25 Medals awarded from the Civil War through Korea. It was a very busy day during the Civil War, with 21 Medals awarded for actions at Blackburn's Ford, Va, and Iuka, Ms, in 1862; Chickamauga, Ga. (where I had a relative fighting for the Orphan Brigade) in 1863, and Winchester, Va, in 1864.
