At least not for each class, players won't find a wide range of body types D2R Items. The Barbarian is one of Diablo 4's five classes and has the right amount of muscle for the job. Although the Sorcerer/Sorceress class appears to be able to lift some books and wands, they are nowhere near as lean and athletic as the Rogue class.

Rod Fergusson, executive producer and head of the Diablo franchise at Blizzard Entertainment, stated, "It turns out that body type is intentionally tied to class roles as part of the game's fantasy."

In a roundtable interview, Fergusson stated, "Body type is something we consider to be part of the class fantasy." He also noted that the creator intentionally created a "dad bod" Druid and an emaciated Necromancer. Having a dad-bod Necro or an emaciated Druid didn't really fit into the class fantasy because those are some of the things that make the class what it is.

“We wanted to provide as much variety as we could, so there were a lot of different ethnicities, hairstyles, markings, and eye colors. However, there were some things that made the class what it was, and body type was one of them in Diablo 4. Fergusson stated, "Body type and class archetypes are also tied into the design of armor and gear in Diablo 4 and all of the other cosmetics that play into a class."

To put it another way, it would be hard to make armor that would fit the bulk of a barbarian's body down to a 90-pound version of the same class. Fergusson stated, "The high-level goal was to provide the most high-level choice you had in a Diablo game." We wanted it to be more about personalization and customization buy diablo II resurrected items, but your barbarian will still be a barbarian: it will be muscular, not a waif.
