To stop players from becoming dependent on health potions, Wilson said that defeated monsters will drop bodies of energy. This mechanic is also intended to keep players involved in the fight to ensure very little or no time between battles.
The option for players to do more than simply click and charge was an important factor on the part of members of the Diablo team, explained Wilson. In the context of the monster known as the Berserker, Wilson stated that it's not advisable to tackle these characters face-to-face.
Instead, the berserker was designed to be a big batter that could be vulnerable should he fail to hit. Were the players to check their speed buy d2r items, they'd be in a position to hit easily on the berserker in the event that they fail and their weapons remain immobilized in the earth.
