Diablo IV's upcoming quarterly update will concentrate on the endgame techniques and visual effects of which Shely states that there's "a great deal we're excited to reveal." Diablo: Resurrected, a faithful remake of the classic RPG that has updated graphics and a few quality-of-life tweaks, launched on September 23rd. Diablo IV does not currently have a release date.
"However these improvements and additional opportunities to improve our game experience will not be made available in the 2021 deadline we had previously announced," Blizzard says. "So the game is now scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2022. This will enable us to bring significant enhancements to the entire game."
Blizzard goes on to outline the changes coming for the game. Regarding PvE, Diablo Immortal will get new raids that can accommodate eight players, changing the game's Bounty system, which will make Challenge Rifts more rewarding.
On the side of PvP, Blizzard will be tweaking various aspects of the game's Battlegrounds system cheap D2R ladder items, and it's faction-based Cycle of Strife. Major changes to the game's progression systems like the Paragon system, as well as the weekly cap on XP, are also in the pipeline.
