services that helps people live more
stable, productive lives.

Who needs Supportive Housing Options?

*People who are chronically homeless
*People who cycle through institutional and emergency
systems and are at risk of long-term
homelessness
*People who are being discharged from institutions and
systems of care
*People without housing, cannot access and make
effective use of treatment and supportive
services

How does one search for Supportive Housing?

Google Search:

– Consolidated Plans
– State Housing Plan
– Local Continuum of Care
– Local Project CHALENG Networks
– Local Community Action Agencies
– National statistics (VA Project CHALENG Report,
NCHV)
– Ryan White Planning Council
– Affordable housing/poverty statistics

What types of Supportive Housing are available?

*Single-site:

Apartment buildings exclusively or primarilyhousing individuals and/or families who areformerly homeless and/or have chronic healthchallenges.

*Scattered-site:

Rent subsidized apartments leased in openmarket (scattered-site).

*Integrated:

Apartment buildings with mixed tenancies,but with units set-aside for formerly homeless.

Who provides direct access here in California?

Well, here are some in the Bay area I know of...

The city of SF acquires sites for the DAH program
through “master leasing”

Most units have private baths and shared cooking
facilities

*DAH housing presently includes:
– The Camelot Hotel (51)
– Windsor Hotel (78 units)
– Star Hotel (54 units)
– Pacific Bay Inn (75 units)
– Le Nain Hotel (86 units)
– Broderick Street Adult Residential Care Facility
(34 units).
