Today, let’s talk about the second balance Manifesto in Path of Exile 3.20, I have to claim that in my opinion, POE is getting progressively worse and worse, I got a lot more cynical and negative, but when they do something good for the game you better confirm that, otherwise all you’re doing is just vent and you’re just not really saying anything. Just like this time I believe patch 3.20 can be a good start in Path of Exile.
So guys, Path of Exile Patch 3.20 is coming and it’s going to bring the end of Archnemesis, but I do want to start with a little bit of a warning, while a lot of people are saying this is going to be the end of this boring Archnemesis, but I think it still little bit controversy. We can wind back to the 3.13 era when the monster mods were very dangerous, and 3.13 era monster mods simply did more than Archnemesis modifiers at scaling up individual things. Whereas Archenemesis at least by 3.19.1 would be granting three Buffs to Stats, that would all be pretty small.
To give you a bit of an example of the difference, one monster mod that’s very scary in 3.19 is Bone Breaker, Bone Breaker grants monsters 40 increased damage and 30 reduced attack speed. The old thing that was reasonably similar to it was Allies, deal substantially increased physical damage aura, about 50 damage increase. It was only for physical damage and it didn’t come along with stun mods or anything like that, but it also didn’t come with a 30 reduction in attack speed. Ultimately the old version of Bone Breaker was scarier than the current version, but also tended not to Buy POE Currency around for as long. Anyways that’s the apprehensive part.
Let’s go through some important the details and see exactly what they’re doing here. Firstly, before that, the Archnemesis did not fully describe the keyword mod names, I definitely agree here, for instance, Steel – Infused is both an offensive and a defensive mod, but it sounds like a defensive mod. On the other hand, multiple effects always combine together, which made harder to understand mods, and one single mode has too many effects, made encounters too complicated. So in 3.20 update, one of the biggest changes in mods just do one thing, and that’s my expectation as well.
Other thing I would like to mention about Archnemesis is the magic-find culling. I’ve spoken to a lot of POE players, and they said that usually it wasn’t even worth it. So I have a little bit of mixed feeling on that, I think the problem in general is more quantity itself.
All the other issues were were true and touched the key point, the mods were not really descriptive, you didn’t really know what they’re doing a lot of times. The new goals are basically that POE Currency is simpler like they used to be, where a mod does one specific thing now. So generally speaking, patch 3.20 is a good thing for players in Path of Exile, I am looking forward to seeing the future version.
