There are six Medals awarded for actions on this day in our military history. All are from the modern era, World War II and Vietnam, and three are posthumous awards.World War II. An anniversary to remember

Yesterday was SWWBO and I's 12th anniversary. I've now gone double my previous record of six years. And, oddly enough, I've been married to SWWBO for as many years as I was married to both other place-holders (apparently intended to keep me off the board until SWWBO was ready). Today's Medal of Honor Moment for 28 December

Today is a very unusual day for the Medal. There are none awarded for actions on this day. Which, of course, doesn't mean there weren't any earned - there just weren't any actions where there were two eyewitnesses (other perhaps than the enemy) who survived the action to tell anyone about it. Medal of Honor Statistics from the Congressional Medal of Honor Society. Notice how much harder it is to get a Medal if you survived the event:
