The Castle's No4Mk1(T). Just so Sean (a Facebook bud, not the syrup-swilling Canuckistani military historian) doesn't feel too bad - this is a non-matching gun. All original parts, but the No 32 Scope doesn't match the rings, nor do either match the receiver. [This pic embiggens] As several of you got to with fair ease, yesterday's quickie whatziss was indeed an Austrian 1867 Werndl rifle. The Castle's Austrian M1867 Werndl rifle is a "turning block"conversion of the standard Austrian muzzle-loader, made as armies struggled to keep up with each other in a time of rapidly acclerating technological change and restricted budgets. I saw ""Red Tails" yesterday.Great buddy movie.Remove the white people, it would be a better movie. Cartoonish history, and amazingly bad dialogue if the scene involves pale people unless they're the hot chick. No, even if they're the hot chick.
